Enthusiasm indicates that, in the state which it implies, feudal princes may be set up and the hosts put in motion with advantage.
The Image
Thunder issuing from the earth with its crashing noise: the image of Enthusiasm. Thus the ancient kings composed their music and did honor to virtue, presenting it most grandly to God, when they associated with Him their highest ancestors.
Description
Enthusiasm (Yu) shows thunder bursting from the earth: energy that wakes everything up and gets people moving together. It is a time of inspiration, music and momentum. Real enthusiasm follows the natural flow of things and gives others a reason to join; it fades when it turns into self-indulgence.
